Not married. Spent some years in the Australian bush. Was a violinist in an orchestra in Australia until he fell in love with the Conductor’s daughter who was the pianist. Her father wouldn’t allow them to marry, so he came to New Zealand where he had a knife making business and also taught the violin. Died at New Lynn in the care of his sister, Rose.
