of the Elms, Eastbourne, Sussex, J.P. and D.L. He worked as a solicitor in Sussex, and was likely born there (at Clapham Commons, or Eastbourne). He appears in the records of the Curteis family of Windmill Hill, as helping them with legal transactions. His elder brother died childless, and his son inherited Edmond Castle.
“I know that John Graham (1794-1879) lived at Rose Lodge (later called Northfield) from 1833 until his mother's death in 1844 then at The Hall, Clapham Common Northside 1844-53. He sold the house in 1853”

[14] reads:
“John Graham of The Hall, Clapham Common, and The Elms, Eastbourne, second son of the above [Thomas Henry Graham] for 45 years a magistrate for Sussex and Deputy Lieutenant, born July 8 1794, died Jany 20 1879. Also, Caroline Elinor, his wife, daughter of E.J. Curteis Esq, of Windmill Hill Place, Sussex, M.P. for that county, born Oct. 15 1797, died Dec 25, 1863, both buried at Eastbourne.”
