Conseiller du Roi, Juge Conservateur des Conventions at Nismes
[16].

Notes for Gabrielle (Spouse 1)
[C-D, XIX, 746]
[C-D, XIX, 753] gives a pedigree of de Villages, one of the important houses of Provence (as he puts it), but Gabrielle does not appear there. However, it is likely that she was related to Antoine de Villages, Baron de Fontarèches, (son of Pierre who married Madeleine Boucher in 1488) as he was the author of the Bernis branch, established in Languedoc. Note that Gabrielle was married in Bernis.
According to Reitwiesner
[43], Gabrielle was the grand-daughter of Antoine. I tend to trust Reitwiesner, and so I shall follow this.
Notes for Anne (Spouse 2)
[C-D, IV, 605]. This is NOT a certain identification for Anne’s husband. [C-D, IV, 605] calls him Pierre de Vignoles, Seigneur de Prades. We also know [C-D, XIX, 746] that a Pierre de Vignolles, Seigneur de Prades married Gabrielle de Villages in 1600. Now, I’m guessing that there cannot have been two simultaneous Seigneur de Prades, one named Pierre de Vignoles, the other Pierre de Vignolles, and so I have identified these two people, although C-D does not do so explicitly. The marriage dates also match, with the first marriage in 1593, the second in 1600.
