Notes for Gabrielle de Villages

[C-D, XIX, 753] gives a pedigree of de Villages, one of the important houses of Provence (as he puts it), but Gabrielle does not appear there. However, it is likely that she was related to Antoine de Villages, Baron de Fontarèches, (son of Pierre who married Madeleine Boucher in 1488) as he was the author of the Bernis branch, established in Languedoc. Note that Gabrielle was married in Bernis.
According to Reitwiesner [43], Gabrielle was the grand-daughter of Antoine. I tend to trust Reitwiesner, and so I shall follow this.
