According to the passenger list, Ovid was 4 months old when the boat arrived in Oct, 1841 (The Gertrude, to Port Nicholson). However, a poem written by his mother is probably more accurate, and that’s the date I’ve used. I’ve put the poem in the media page.

He died when he was 18. Don’t know why. His death notice is in the Nelson Examiner793.
