Notes for Sarah Jessup
Three children. Mary Elizabeth, Susan Moore, and Sara Elizabeth. Details given in [JB] [23].
Notes for John (Spouse 1)
Rector of Somerton (Bury St. Edmunds), Suffolk Co., from 1799 to 1853. From Herefordshire, and had been tutor to the Marquis of Downshire, the patron of Somerton. Also Canon of Ely and chaplain to four successive sovereigns (George III, George IV, William IV and Victoria). So says [JB] [23]. I’m not entirely sure I believe this information. Perhaps.

His second wife was Finetta Hale, whom he married in 1831. Why is this interesting? Well, because there is a Finetta Maddy Boileau, daughter of John Theophilus (iii) Boileau, who died young. The names cannot be a coincidence, so there was obviously some connection there, but it’s not clear what, exactly. Maybe just trying to impress the rich rellies.
