melvillewedding Sent by Ian Melville. Not sure who is who in this, but it's the wedding of Jim Melville and Tots Norgrove.
"A photo of the wedding of my Grand Parents Bertha Emma Mabel Norgrove and Horace James Melville [14 04 1906]. Photo obviously taken in the grounds of the Dillon Street house.
I think that Kate is the bridesmaid and Edgar Roydon [Uncle Ted] is standing
between the bride and bridesmaid. Oscar and Granny Norgrove to the side? I do not think that any of Horrie's family had made the journey from Australia
to be present. "

DSC01349 The old Norgrove family home, Dillon Street, in Blenheim built by William and
his sons in 1864. The original painting is in Joan McNaught's hands. I think
that she found the painting by accident in a second hand shop.
Joan says:
"The coloured painting of Dillon St. was done by an unknown painter and obviously well before my time.... The garden was not so extensive or well kept after Aunt Emma lost her sight.
A Blenheim friend was visiting and saw (the) painting hanging and recognised it, the owner had no idea of its background, but once she was told and that there was still family in Blenheim, it was given to our friend who was asked to give it to family - my Mother and sister. My sister Dorothy Norgrove is in a home in Blenheim and has the painting on the wall of her room there."

ERNFuneral Ian Melville writes:
"A clipping from most probably "The Marlborough Express"
The way it was folded. It would have been posted by Auntie May to my mother.
I was at that funeral."

ERNorgroveFamily Ian Melville writes:
"14/7/46 Ted, May and family.
From left to right:
Alf, Auntie May, Dorothy, Joan and Uncle Ted.
The setting is just inside the front gate at 62 Redwood Street underneath the
Kowhai tree that Uncle Ted used to enjoy the wood pigeons in long after he
became blind."

Oscar, Edgar, Edith & Bertha Oscar Norgrove, his wife Edith (nee Brook), and two of their children, Edgar and Bertha. Mum reckons the girl looks like Kate, not Bertha. I'm not so sure.

kate, Edgar, Bertha & Arthur The Norgrove children; Kate, Edgar, Bertha and Arthur. Edgar is in the middle, with Kate on his right. I suspect the Sylvan glade is fake.
